Briefcases.

I just finished fixing my briefcase a few moments ago. It really is amazing what you can do with duct tape these days. I know that I might get a few suggestions that it is time to get a new one, but I am in no hurry to do so. As beat up and torn as my old one is, it still does its job of carrying around my essential papers pretty well.

You know all of us have another briefcase that carries around what is essential. That briefcase is our body and it carries around the most important and essential things in the world. It carries our spirit, our soul, our heart, and our mind. It carries the love, joy, peace, and happiness that lie within us. It carries that glorious Child of God that is visiting Earth and will one day return to Heaven.

We should all do our best to take good care of these bodies of ours. We should nourish them, exercise them, keep them clean, and give them plenty of rest. We should never forget, however, that they are only briefcases. They carry what is essential, but if you really want to live you have to open them up and look at what is inside of them. You have to flip the latch and take out that loving soul, that joyous spirit, that happy heart, and that peaceful mind. You have to let that glorious Child of God out to rejoice in these things and share them with the world.

Remember it doesn't matter if your briefcase is old, or worn, or sick, or disabled. It doesn't matter if it is overweight, or wrinkled, or unattractive, or has a low I.Q. It doesn't even matter if it seems to be held together with nothing but duct tape and sewing thread. All that matters is that you open it up and share all those fantastic, essential treasures of love and joy that lie within it.
