It looks like we are getting an early Autumn here in the mountains of my home. Even though it is only the middle of August, we are already getting some beautiful changing leaves here. The green trees are now getting splashes of wonderful reds, brilliant oranges, shimmering yellows, and glorious golds in them. Some of the early changing trees are already completely transformed into their heart-warming Fall colours. It looks as if it is going to be as awe inspiring an Autumn as I have ever seen here. My only regret is that it also looks as if it will be over so very quickly. |
I am doing my best then to get out and enjoy it as much as I can before it is over. I am doing my best to take all these glorious brush strokes of colour painted by the hand of God into my heart, mind, and soul. I am doing my best to let them warm me, brighten me, and uplift me before they are gone for another year. I am letting this early Autumn remind me of a very important lesson in this life. This lesson is that it does not matter how long your colours last in this world, but rather how brightly they shine. |
I have known some truly beautiful souls in my days who have passed from this world while still so very young. The love they chose, the joy they shared and the lives they touched, however, made their brief time here shine brighter than a forest in the Fall. The colours of their lives transformed the world around them in the few days they had. |
May we all live as beautifully as they did then. May we all choose to shine our love, joy, goodness, and delight as brightly as possible. May we all make the colours of our lives glow as brilliantly as we can. None of us knows how long we have to make this world a better and more beautiful place. None of us knows how long or how gloriously God means for us to shine in this life before we move on to an even greater one. |
