The Dreaming Place

The literal translation of the word 'Aborigine' is: the people who were here from the beginning.

The 'Aboriginal Dreamtime' is the part of Aboriginal Religion and Culture which explains the origins and culture of the land and its people.

Australia is similar to all other continents in that the Aboriginal people were not 'one people', but many tribes or peoples, each with their own language, beliefs, and traditions. Therefore, some of our selection of dreamtime stories will recall different traditions, or use different language for the same events.

The Dreamtime contains many parts. The Dreamtime is the story of things that have happened, how the universe came to be, how human beings were created and how the Creator intended for humans to function within the cosmos.

The 'Dreaming Place' is a quiet place within nature which touches an individual and is where individuals go to meditate, and communicate with the spirit world.

Our 'Dreaming Place' is a place to quietly reflect on a selection traditional Aboriginal Dreamtime Stories which were passed down by the old ones.
