Angel Watching

Angel watching has always been a favorite past time of mine. It takes a keen eye, an open heart, and a joyful soul to be a good angel watcher. You have to be ready for a quick surprise, a burst of delight, and a flood of love when you do it, however. Angels just love to catch you off guard and fill you with wonder, awe, and happiness.

Now the angels I am talking about aren't the ones with halos, robes, and wings that you see in paintings hanging in art galleries. The angels that I am talking about are the ones who hide behind human faces and ordinary clothes. The angels that I am talking about are the ones who disguised as the rest of us go about sharing love, spreading joy, warming hearts, and uplifting souls. The angels that I am talking about are the ones who take a little bit of Heaven and bring it down to Earth so that the rest of us can see just how wonderful this life can be.

These angels aren't always easy to spot, but when you have been angel watching as long as I have you start to see the signs that give them away.

The eyes that glow with light and love are the first sign. There isn't an angel out there whose eyes don't sparkle and dance with the goodness and oneness with God that lies within their souls. The shining smile is another beautiful sign.

Angels can always send God's joy, love, and happiness straight into your heart when they smile. The desire to help others is perhaps the biggest sign of all. Angels are full of love, joy, and caring and thus always want to help others. They tend to appear the most in times of great need.

When a Winter storm and power blackout blanketed this area recently, I saw more angels out there helping, giving, and caring than I believed possible. Keep your eyes open for angels then. They are everywhere. In fact, if you look closely enough you might even see one the next time you look in the mirror.
